Dr Tara Kurrajong
General Practitioner
Tara grew up in Brisbane and Hobart and studied botany and geology at the University of Tasmania before moving to Adelaide and then Darwin to study medicine. She graduated from Flinders University with honors in 2008. Tara spent 11 years in the Northern Territory training and working in a range of settings including remote Aboriginal community health services, before returning to Tasmania with her family in 2018.
She received her fellowship with RACGP in 2016. She enjoys the full breadth of general practice, and is particularly interested in women’s and children’s health. She completed a Diploma of Child Health in 2013, a certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health in 2013, and provides comprehensive women’s health services including the insertion of IUDs. Tara enjoys bushwalking, making ceramics in her home studio and playing very amateur violin with her friends in the Bruny Island ensemble.
